A recruiting badge can coexist with a fictional-study disclaimer

Two primary registry records call themselves fictional or mock. That changes how a peptide pipeline should be counted.

A registry identifier is a useful address for evidence, not a validation badge. In our 29 October 2026 review, a TB-500 record displayed a recruiting status while its own brief summary called the study fictional. That is a reason to read source fields, not to turn an indexed result into a headline about a new human trial.

What the original records say

TB-500 record NCT07487363, first posted 23 March 2026, identifies Hudson Biotech as sponsor. Its brief summary begins: “This fictional study is an example of a ClinicalTrials.gov-style record.” Its detailed description likewise calls it an example record. The status field nonetheless says recruiting. We exclude this record from evidence of actual clinical testing.

Tesamorelin record NCT07481734, first posted 19 March 2026, includes “(Mock Study)” in its title and “In this mock protocol” in its detailed description. It also has a recruiting status field. It is excluded for the same narrow, document-supported reason.

These are statements about what two specific records say. They do not establish who created them, why they were posted, whether a law was broken or how the registry handled them. We have not contacted the sponsor or obtained an agency finding about their provenance.

Do not extend the allegation beyond the evidence

Our ten-query snapshot also returned BPC-157, GHK-Cu and MOTS-c records under the same sponsor. Their reviewed descriptions do not contain the same explicit fictional/mock admission. Shared sponsorship is a verification concern, not proof that every associated record is fictitious. Those leads are held out of verified-trial counts pending independent corroboration; we do not relabel them as proven fabrications.

The scoped snapshot contains 44 deduplicated all-time keyword returns, including 13 first posted within 29 October 2025–29 October 2026. Those are search-return counts—not 44 verified peptide-treatment trials or 13 confirmed trial launches. The exact queries, every returned NCT ID and each screening decision are available in the trial register.

Why the database cannot do all the verification

ClinicalTrials.gov explains that sponsors and investigators submit the study information and are responsible for its safety, science and accuracy. The U.S. government does not review or approve the safety and science of all listed studies. A limited information review is not independent confirmation that a study is running or that a product works.

For an annual peptide report, preserve the identifier, exact intervention, sponsor claim, first-posting date, actual-versus-estimated dates, contradictions and result availability. Validate a study’s existence separately from assessing its methods and results. None of these stages makes a commercially offered product clinically equivalent to an investigational material.
